  1. Q: What kind of church is this?

A: We are a non-traditonal church whose aim is to reach people who have "given up on church but haven't given up on God."

  2. Q: What denomination is it?

A: We are affiliated with the BGC (Baptist General Conference). We are a daughter church of Faith Community Church in Hudson, where interestingly, about 85% of attendees have a Lutheran or Catholic background.

  3. Q: Where is your building? (We get this one a lot!)

A: We intend to meet at Meyer Middle School auditorium for a long time. We value people more than buildings. Someday, we plan to have a more permanent building if it is in the Lord's will.

  4. Q: Why does River Falls need another church?

A: While we do not claim to be better than any other church in town, we are simply striving to offer something different. We believe that there is a hunger present in thousands of un-churched people in River Falls for something real, refreshing and current. We want to cooperate with other churches rather than be competition.

  5. Q: I'm turned off by churches that I feel just want my money. Will I feel pressured to give here?

A: Obviously, there are expenses involved in operating a church. There are people who have committed to supporting The River financially and do so freely without coercion. We may be the only church in the country that passes fishing creels around at some point in our service. The imagery is fun, considering the Bible tells us to be "fishers of men" and hey, it’s a "river" theme. No, we are not after your money, so this isn’t a pressure or guilt tactic to shake anybody down. Rather, we want to make it as convenient as possible for you to respond with your communication card or if you would like to give. Most importantly, we believe that the act of giving itself is an act of worship. That is why we include it in our service.
