This week we looked at Acts 6:1-7. The church was rapidly expanding in number. The 12 disciples showed humility and trust by having the church choose 7 men to oversee the daily distribution to the widows. We learned 4 lessons from Acts that we can apply today when filling ministry needs in the church.

Our scripture this week is Acts 5:17-42. In this text we see the apostles going against The High Priest and preaching the Gospel. They are thrown into prison, but they rejoice that they are counted worthy to suffer in the name of Jesus Christ. We too should expect that some people will come to believe, others will reject Jesus, and some will vehemently oppose God. We are to preach the Good News in affectionate obedience to God, and out of love for others.

This week we learned about signs and wonders from Acts 5. Many people gathered in Solomon's portico hoping for healing--this sermon gives us guard rails for discerning signs and wonders, and gives us ways that signs and wonders point to the Glory of God.

We continue our series in Acts with the story of Ananias and Sapphira who attempt to deceive the church for sinful gain, only to be confronted by the holiness of God.

We conclude our All In series by opening to Romans 12:9-13 to discuss our Connect and Grow Core Commitments. Pastor Brandon shares some of his own story regarding the power of authentic Christian community in leading him to believe in Jesus.

We discuss our GO Core Commitment with the unveiling and teaching of the 411: a tool/method of discipleship and equipping for evangelism that we will use going forward at The River Church.

Pastor Caleb talks on the ways in which we are to worship the Lord both joyfully and passionately.

We start a new four-week series looking at The River's Vision, Mission, and Core Commitments. We discuss 2 Peter 1:3-15 and how we are to be "all in" for Jesus through explaining our vision and mission statements.

We celebrate Resurrection Sunday by studying Luke 24:1-12 together and look especially at how precisely Jesus "predicted" His death and resurrection.

We look at Jesus' Triumphal Entry from Luke and discuss various prophecies showing Jesus to be the Chosen King who came in peace mounted on a donkey.

We open to Acts 4:32-37 and discuss the early church's unity and generosity.

We look at how the early church prays in Acts 4:23-31 in response to persecution and invite those listening to submit their own prayer requests for boldness in missions.

We open to Acts 4:1-22 and see a Spirit-filled Peter preach the gospel of Jesus boldly to the council of religious leaders threatening them to stop in the wake of a miraculous healing.

This week we opened to Acts 3 and saw Peter heal a disabled beggar "in the name of Jesus Christ" and then preach the gospel to the crowd of amazed onlookers.

We discussed Acts 2:42-47 and looked at the four things that the early church devoted themselves to.

We open to Acts 2:14-41 when Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, preaches the gospel of Jesus Christ, which the Spirit uses to convert three thousand souls!

We witness the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost!

We look at Acts 1:15-26 and watch as Peter rightly handles the Scriptures to lead the early church to prayerfully select a replacement apostle for Judas, the betrayer.

We're talking all about prayer as we observe how the disciples devoted themselves to prayer.

We open to Acts 1:4-11 and discuss Jesus' Ascension and the call and identity of every Christian to be a witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
