We open to Genesis 49 where Jacob pronounces blessings over his twelve sons and discuss the idea of legacy and how that impacted the respective blessings. This leads us to ask the question: What will be my legacy?

In our passage we see a couple ceremonies taking place between Jacob/Israel and Joseph, including Israel adopting Joseph's sons Ephraim and Manasseh, that relabel Joseph as the firstborn, therefore the inheritor of the double portion.

We discuss Jacob moving the entire family to Egypt, specifically to the area of Goshen and how in this God fulfills once again the promises of land, offspring, and blessing.

We discuss Genesis 45:1-15 when Joseph reveals himself to his brothers and initiates reconciliation with them. We also looked closer at the concepts of forgiveness and reconciliation biblically and how we as Christians are to think about each.

We open to Joseph, now imprisoned, and follow his lengthy saga of dream interpretation and eventual rise to power.

We open to Genesis 39, picking up on Joseph's story, now serving in Potiphar's house. But when presented with a significant temptation, will Joseph give himself over to sin like his brothers or others who have come before?

We open to Genesis 38 and discuss the scandalous story of Judah and Tamar. But we also see the beginnings of change as Judah is faced with his terrible choices.

We open to Genesis 37 and start into the life of Joseph, favored son of Jacob, shown through the gift of a magnificent robe. But this favoritism breeds hatred among Joseph's brothers, spelling doom for him...

We look at Esau's life and family and explore the idea of being successful but not having God.
